Waynesville Kids Activities!

Waynesville Recreation Center
Offers year round swimming indoors which includes an awesome kids area with a water slide, fountains and is zero entry so even the littlest ones can enjoy the water.

Waynesville Skate Park
Just down the street from the Waynesville Recreation Center is the Waynesville Public Skate Park. FREE!

Smoky Mountain Sk8way
Indoor roller-skating rink, which also includes an obstacle course, 40 arcade games, climbing wall, 2 slides, a snack bar and more.

Cataloochee Ski Area & Tube World
In the winter kids love to ski or snowboard at the Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley. Just down the road from Catalochee is Tube World, which offers snow tubing most weekends in the colder months.

Asheville Kids Activities!

Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS)
This is Western North Carolina’s home for experiential science learning, discovery, and exploration. This is a great museum with lots of hands on activities. Located in Downtown Asheville.

Right in the heart of Downtown Asheville in Pack Square Park, the interactive fountains are a great place to cool off in the warmer months and the park is a great place to hangout and people watch. Be sure to check the website, the fountains sometimes close on weekends during festival and events.

Carrier Park In West Asheville
One of Asheville’s best parks located in West Asheville and situated along the French Broad River. Features over 7 miles of greenways and walking trails. There is also a huge kids play area, a veledrome for biking, volleyball courts, roller hockey rink, dog park, basketball courts, river access in multiple spots and more. Growth in the area has also brought businesses that are located across the street in many places. These include the Smoky Mountain Adventure Center, which features tube/kayak rentals and a state of the art climbing Wall Park for people of all levels.

RAD Skate Park
Western North Carolina’s largest indoors skate park. Huge facility located in the River Arts District. You can drop the kids off then go explore over 150 artist studios that are also located in the area. If you just want to unwind with a beer, one of Asheville’s best breweries, The Wedge, is in the same complex as the skate park.

Asheville Pinball Museum
Now this place is way cool! You pay a flat admission fee for the day and you can play over 75 pinball machines and classic video games. Beer and snacks are served onsite, or you can take a break to grab a meal at one of the many surrounding restaurants in downtown Asheville.

Fun Depot
Asheville’s Fun Depot is a mostly indoor family entertainment center that features outdoor and indoor go-carts, 18-hole indoor mini-golf course, laser tag, bumper cars, a climbing wall, playgrounds and inflatables, mini-bowling, X-rider 4D Theater, arcade games, Aeroball, Lazer Frenzy, Atomic Rush, and so much more.

Reptile Museum
Located just south of Asheville in Mills River is an educational tour with over 200 snakes and reptiles.

SkyZone & LaunchTrampoline Park
Two indoors trampoline parks located in South Asheville. Both offer similar features including trampolines, obstacle courses, climbing walls, and dodge ball.

Mountain Play Lodge
Indoor play center for younger kids (10 and under)

Western North Carolina Nature Center
The Western North Carolina Nature Center is a 42-acre zoological park operated by the City of Asheville’s Parks and Recreation department. Offers lots of great exhibits and live animals from the Southern Appalachian region.

Hands On Hendersonville
Located just a little south of Asheville in downtown Hendersonville the Hands On! Children’s Museum offers interactive exhibits and STEM learning experiences for kids of all-ages.
